Anti-Strategic Retreat

So the LDS Church is reconsidering tearing down the Key Bank Tower. Bad idea. That heap needs torn down as badly as the Key Bank at 100 S. and State did, and the mall overhaul is the perfect time to do it. The plan to tear down the Key Tower and replace it with mixed use, including residential, was genius (Disclaimer: I'm not LDS, but I give credit where it's due.). Downtown will not shake off its corpselike pallor until there are more people living there, other than winos (Off the top of my head, I can think of a half-dozen other office buildings that need similarly replaced, especially with a new tower planned for the south 200 block of Main, but I digress.). Leaving the Tower in place is a great leap backward.
